A widow secretly placed a photo of her husband’s mistress in his coffin, and a few days later something happened that the whole village would remember for a long time
Maria hated Anna. For two years, the young paramedic had been constantly around David — Maria’s legal husband. Anna always found a reason to be near him: an emergency call, a “chance” meeting at the store, or a long conversation after a check-up. She smiled too confidently and looked at him as if his wife simply didn’t exist.
Maria did not stay silent. She told Anna several times to stay away from her family. But Anna calmly replied that David was an adult and could decide who he wanted to talk to. Sometimes she would add with a smile that if a man were truly happy at home, he wouldn’t seek attention elsewhere.
Maria could never forget those words.
David had recently turned forty. He worked a lot and often traveled around the district. One evening, his heart simply stopped. It all happened very quickly.
When Anna learned the news, she came to Maria’s house to say goodbye. At the funeral, she stood aside, not approaching the coffin. The widow came up to her and quietly said she would never forgive her, blaming Anna for destroying her family and driving David to his grave.
“You will soon die because I placed your photo in your lover’s coffin.”
Anna said nothing and left. A few days later, something unbelievable happened….

On the night of her husband’s death, Maria took an old photo of Anna from a drawer. She looked at it for a long time, then quietly, when no one was home, went to the coffin and placed the photo on David’s chest, believing it would punish her rival.
The widow herself told the lover about the photo in the coffin — and it was not accidental.
Maria knew their village was full of rumors and superstitions. People believed in signs and curses more than medicine. That’s exactly what she relied on.
After the funeral, she approached Anna and loudly, so neighbors could hear, said she had placed her photo in the coffin. She added that such things always come with a price.
People immediately began whispering, and rumors spread through the village.
But the real reason was different.
Maria decided to get rid of her rival quietly, in a way that would not be traced back to her.
A few days later, Anna suddenly became ill: weakness, nausea, and severe stomach pain. Rumors of a curse spread quickly.
But Anna, being a medical worker, suspected poisoning. She stopped eating food from others and drinking water given by strangers.
After a few days, she began to recover.
And then she realized: someone had truly wanted to kill her. And the only person who benefited from it had started the entire “curse” story herself.
