My new wife asked her just one question, and what my ex-wife then revealed plunged me into deep despair…

A sudden burst of commotion in the room drew everyone’s attention. Rumors spread quickly, but no one understood what was about to happen.

At university, I was a handsome and intelligent guy admired by many female students. But I never fell in love with anyone. My family was poor; I had to work part-time every day to pay for my studies, leaving no time for romance.

Among the girls who admired me was my classmate Wang. To win my heart, she often bought me food, clothes, and even paid for my tuition.

I didn’t feel anything real for her, but since her family financially supported my education, I reluctantly agreed to be with her.

After graduating from university, because I wanted to stay in the city, I agreed to marry Wang so her parents could help me find a job. But once we started living together, I realized I didn’t love her at all, and I even felt disgusted by physical intimacy with her.

We were married for three years and had no children. She constantly urged me to get tested, but I insisted I was completely healthy and refused. By that time, my career was stable, and I no longer depended on her family. That was when I decided to end the boring marriage and pursue my “true love.”

My coldness and indifference eventually pushed her away. She agreed to sign the divorce papers and let me go. After that, I started dating a beautiful business partner I had long admired in secret. More than a year later, we decided to get married. I did not invite my ex-wife, but she somehow still showed up — completely unashamed.

The most shocking part was that she appeared pregnant to congratulate us. Her presence caused a stir and immediately drew everyone’s attention. The room filled with whispers; no one knew what was about to happen.

When Wang approached us, she said:

“If I could turn back time, I would never have wasted my youth on a man who didn’t love me and only used my money. My biggest regret was marrying you.”

When the bride turned to leave, visibly upset, she asked:

“Whose child is that?”

That question shocked me. My ex-wife and I had been divorced for over a year, so the child clearly couldn’t be mine. But… why hadn’t she gotten pregnant during our three years of marriage? Did that mean I was infertile?

Wang didn’t keep us waiting long. She turned back and said:

“For three years, your husband and I couldn’t have children. I often asked him to get tested, but he always blamed me. And every time I got checked, everything was fine. After the divorce, I fell in love with another man. And on the very first night with him, I got pregnant.”

Her words shocked the bride so much that she dropped her bouquet. I myself was completely stunned and didn’t know what to do.

After Wang left, I tried to calm my fiancée and asked her to continue the ceremony. But she refused and said she wanted to cancel the wedding and asked me to take a fertility test before deciding whether to marry me. She said:

“My brother and his wife were married for nine years and had no children. They spent a lot of money on treatments but still ended up divorcing. I don’t want to repeat that mistake.

A woman’s value decreases with every failed marriage; I don’t want my first wedding to be with a man who may not be able to have children.”

I had no right to blame either my ex-wife or my fiancée.

My downfall was the result of my own schemes and selfishness. I sowed bitterness, and now I am reaping it. If I had treated my ex-wife well, I would not be facing such a miserable ending today.
